In a 3 pp. essay, identify and discuss the types of appeal (ethos, logos, and pathos) and at least five other rhetorical techniques that one of the following authors uses in his or her essay: Judy Brady, “I Want a Wife,” Stephen King, “Reading to Write,” Frederick Douglass, “Learning to Read and Write,” Amy Tan, “Mother Tongue,” “The Allegory of the Cave” by Plato or Mark Twain’s “The Lowest Animal.”
Your overall argument should be about the author’s thesis. The discussion of the three (3) appeals and five (5) additional techniques will support your thesis and show HOW the author makes their argument.
