Business Research Report Proposal

Discuss about the Business Research Report Proposal.

Research Proposal Work Structure

The basic structure of a research proposal highlighting the various stages is shown below. In the subsequent pages explanation would be offered with regards to each of these steps.

steps

Introduction

The researchers have adopted a topic for this research study named “Resource Management and Sustainable Development of an organisation.’’ Resource management is considered an essential measure for the overall growth of an organisation in terms of their productivity, profitability index etc. Resource management constitutes the following resources of the business (Declercq et al. 2013).

  • Financial Resources
  • Human Resources
  • Inventory or Supply Resources
  • Production Resources
  • Technology Resources i.e. Information technology resources.

These resources can also improve the business prospects of the respective organisation in the global market. Additionally, the other pivotal element, which can directly affect the brand position of the organisation, is sustainable development. This essential element of the organisation is governed by the resource management.  The following diagram summarises the various components of resource management and the relation between sustainable development and resource management.

conducted to determine

Therefore, an organised research study work needs to be conducted to determine the major effect of the resource management and sustainable development on an organisation.

Research Problem Statement

Due to the current challenging business scenario, many of the organisations have suffered from several issues in handling the resources. The sustainable development of any organisation is directly linked with the resource management. Hence, it is prerequisite to use the resources efficiently.

Issues in resource management

  • The major issue that arises in this context is with regards to financial resources because it is observed from various statistics, that financial stability of any firm can boost the overall performance of the organisation.
  • Human resource management is another pivotal parameter that affects the productivity of the organisation (Kuik and Verbruggen 2012).

Issues is sustainable development

  • Lack of organised management in the organisation causes formation of unhealthy and non-supportive work environment for the employees
  • Lesser support from the native administrative authority results in various obstructions in the business in the global market
  • Small scale organisation cannot sustain in such competitive environment
  • Lack of the advanced technology

Core Research Questions

  • What are the ways by which the organisation can use resource management effectively?
  • What are the techniques that should be adopted for the sustainable development of any organisation?
  • What are the parameters and pivotal steps to improve the maintenance and work culture of the organisation?
  • What are the major challenges and issue of any organisation in order to make a brand globally recognised?
  • How can an organisation use the financial resources efficiently in order to enhance the profitability index?

Research Methodology, Design and Techniques

Selection of an appropriate research design is imperative in order to conduct a research study work. There are three major research design have been taken into accounts

  • Explanatory research design
  • Exploratory research design
  • Descriptive research design

Explanatory research design provides a perception about the problem. It cannot explain the accurate problem. Hence, a detailed information and data needed in order to use this research method. Exploratory research design involves various tools and techniques in regards to collect the data and information. It has been observed that descriptive research design is more accurate as compared to other two. Therefore, the researchers have selected descriptive research design, because it is an accurate and reliable method to determine the actual issue in specified manner (Mackey and Gass 2015).

Primary techniques have been preferred by the researcher for analysing the issue in this research study work. The researchers would adopt primary method for collecting the data, hence numerous set of data would be collected and analysed.

Research Process Steps

A well-specified systematic method has been adopted for conducting the research study work (Hillier, 2006).

  • Selection of the problem or opportunity for the research
  • Formation of the objective of the research study work
  • Set of research questions that need to be addressed
  • Formulation of the basic assumption for the research
  • Literature review for the research study work and determination of the previous research key points and theoretical view about the current research
  • Collection of the data and knowledge from different sources with the help of suitable procedure i.e. primary method
  • Sample size is selected 75
  • Analysis of the collected data using appropriate mathematical model
  • Finalise the research analysis and discuss the expected outcomes of the research

Data Collection and Analysis Procedure

Data collection – primary method

Primary data collection method would be utilised for this research. This mode of data collection requires extensive time. Sample size is selected in this case is 75 which includes 50 employees and 25 higher management level professionals. However, researchers would not use secondary data because it is assumed that the primary data is much more reliable in terms of accuracy, since the secondary data may not be upgraded in the websites, articles, books and journals and hence, cannot be considered in research from an accuracy point of view (Hastie, Tibshirani &  Friedman, 2001).

Analysis procedure – both qualitative and quantitative

The concerned researchers have selected both types of methods to analyse the collected data (Taylor, Bogdan and DeVault 2015). There are two variables selected in the research study, key answers as per the questionnaire and another variable is the targeted employees (middle level and higher level professionals). The quantitative method involves various statistical techniques to express the collected data in mathematical form, graphs, charts or tables in MS excel or with the help of SPSS software. The researchers would take data from the employees and managerial level professionals of a specified organisation for primary data. The researchers would conduct interview sessions with the individuals of the organisation to collect detailed primary data and information (Eriksson & Kovalainen, 2015).

Expected Research Outcomes

The prime objective of this research study work is to find the various factors which affect the resource management and sustainable development of the organisation. The researchers have adopted a specific research design to resolve this issue. The major outcome of this research study is a huge range of collected data and information from the employees of an organisation. The researcher can simplify and analyse the collected information and data efficiently for further research study. This range of data and information will help the researchers, to examine the various effects of resource management and sustainable development on an organisation. It can also help to provide the imperative steps to enhance the profitability index and brand position of the organisation in the global market.
