In this section, you are expected to examine your subject firm looking at its current supply chain management practices (i.e., downstream marketing, operations, upstream sourcing, and logistics). What are they doing well? What could they do better? Why is this practice good or bad? You may wish to interview individuals with the subject firm and/or upstream vendors and downstream customers.
You may also wish to look at the firm’s financial performance and how that relates to their supply chain. How does the firm manage their inventory and forecast demand? What about their relationships with vendors (multi-source or single-source?)? How do they choose and evaluate their vendors? Do they have in place any lean and/or agile practices?
