Presentation: Strength

Discussion:

The power point presentation based on effective E-mail criteria was a part of class curriculum based on the innovative and creative approach of the students towards a task. The task had few restrictions although; such that we had to submit the task within the given time frame and the word limit of the task was also mentioned. In addition to this, the selected topic had little option to show many creative and innovative ideas. However, the activity was successfully over with few suggestions and recommendations to improve the quality of the task in future. The discussion is on the self reflection of the success or failure of the presentation. The discussion will also highlight the facts that might be used to improve the presentation. 

A presentation should be attractive to hold the attention of the viewers. In addition to this, it is also expected that the information included in the presentation must be genuine and to the point. However, in-texting of the reference used was missing; this is a great mistake or rather inefficiency in the presentation. If the strength of the presentation has to be highlighted, it can be said that enough initiation had been undertaken to make the presentation attractive and colorful. The welcome note and the heading used in the presentation were clear and attractive to hold the attention of the spectators. The cartoon characters included were something different than that are usually seen in a presentation. The content given in eighth slide was very informative, this slide is better than the other slides of the presentation. Other information given in the other slides of the presentation were appropriate and to the point.

In case, if there was a provision of doing the presentation again, certain changes would definitely have to address. Primarily, there was not enough information included in each section of the notes. Thus, useful and a bit elaborative information might be included. In the third slide, that presented the ‘agenda’ was very brief and there was no information at all. Thus, in that slide a foot note would have been included to demonstrate the importance of the stated points briefly. In case of creativity, it might be said that the presentation lacked the professional or academic touch and it was presented in a more ‘comical’ way. There was no similarity in the pattern of the slides. When the slides were viewed at a go, the color combinations were not leasing to the eyes. There was a diverse range of colors from green and orange with sudden appearance of a dark background. This was something distasteful. The last two slides that included the example of poor content and superior content seemed very clumsy. Although it was required to include the content in that format, it was not pleasing to the spectators. 

Since, it was a group project, opinion of each and every member of the group was equally important. The presentation was finally approved with the consent of the members. It might be said that it is due to the input of the various ideas of the members that a diverse approach has been made in designing the presentation. At many times, there raised much confusion in making approaches towards designing or inclusion of the content in the presentation. 

If a few changes were to be made on the presentation focus should be made on the professional touch towards making the presentation along with the color combination used for the presentation. At the beginning of the presentation, a slide narrating the upcoming of the presentation might be included. Using the existing designs available as default option in the MS Power Point might be used rather than including a lot of cartoon or comic characters. This would represent the data and information in an appropriate and correct pattern. This approach is much pleasant to eyes rather than using changing patterns in the slides. Apart from that focus should be made greatly on the content that is represented. It should include a lot of data and statistics along with examples. All these facts are needed to be referenced. In-texting the reference in proper position is very important and that has to be kept in mind. Including short foot notes in each slide of the presentation will be very beneficial for conducting the presentation; both for the speaker and for the viewers. The main body should have information in bullet points and the extra information is required to be included in the notes of each slide of the presentation.
