Reflection Projects Elucidates Areas
Discuss about the Reflection Projects Elucidates Areas.
The purpose of this paper it to have a self-assessment of my ability to handle a report project. The task was to study the situation at Afghanistan and analyze the situation of birth mortality late. In addition to this, I was to review literature and develop recommendation plan that can be executed to solve the dire problem. This was to be presented as written report that would entail, literature review, methodology results and discussion and recommendation. The recommendation would entail a design and a plan of training community health workers. This mandated me to do thorough research of literature on different parts of the world relevant to my task. My final report was to design and develop a training package for rural health workers in the Afghanistan
I embarked on the task guided by the aim of coming up with a report that focused on how to improve the quality of facilities offered by the community health workers. The second objective was to do a thorough review of the content of training programs with view on establishing its relevance in training the developing community in Afghanistan. My final goal was provide a practical recommendations on the program to be used in training health workers in Afghanistan.
In relation to my objectives, I did not include the problem in details. To the recipient of the report, I did not create a vivid picture of the situation at Afghanistan. I did not in verbose analyses the environment surrounding the victims of maternal mortality. Though I felt a brief information would be enough, I left out social, economic and political factors that if ignored would impede application of my report. Additionally, I did not include the success reports of previous programs that have been into place.
My literature review was aimed at exploring past reports and documentations resembling situations. . I performed this so as to establish discrepancies and gaps that needed attention in the region. I analyzed government policies, research reports and texts to get enough details. Literature review was the most tasking part the project. This was made worse by the limited resources available discussing my region of study. In addition to this is the cost of economic high cost of recommended texts.
The aim was to establish the core components of successful community health programs as well as common structural ligaments that may make the program unfruitful. In addition was analysis of the role of government in project’s sustenance. I analyzed multiple programs in various regions of the world, however on my documenting, I largely considered stating the causes of failure of some program. My documentation should have briefly entailed structural and environmental properties that inspired success on programs. I thought this as not important, but such a vital report needs such information.
At this level, I further explored various intervention by the government that inspire success.
However, on this segment, I failed to review literature based on programs and efforts on a country of region that resembles Afghanistan in terms of security, economic, political and social aspects (“Research Guides: Organizing Your Social Sciences Research Paper: 5. The Literature Review”, 2016) This would have created a more vivid picture to the recipient of the report, as they would associate the two regions.
The process demanded more time, sacrifices and expenses. This consequently resulted to busier evenings doing research and analysis on the quality of the information. These derided my social life and quality time with the family. As most of the time was either on my laptop or on books. Though this was not enjoyed, they understood and gave me space. I worked harder to get that feeling over. On future projects, I will ensure that school work is done at school and not home.
After literature review was methodology, I analyzed all the information form the literature materials and information sources. The data was huge and I needed to craft a method of objectively getting the most important thematic areas to focus on. I developed six step analysis method to define the information. I arrived at final thematic areas; three.
However, today I feel policies, strategies and activities are few thematic areas. A report of this magnitude and field need an integrated and thorough planning. There is need to consider a broader perspective. For example. Financing, accessibility and role of secondary stakeholders.
Discussion. I emphasized on the need to develop efficient program in the uruzgan province as I argued that the health workers are not enough are equally not qualified. However on my discussion, I maintained it be much brief than I feel it should be. Discussion ought to be zest of the report. However, this was seen differently by my colleagues and family.
My conclusion and recommendations, I felt this part as very core in my report as it entails a major goal of the entire report. I listed various recommendations that my research showed, that if effected, there could be tremendous fall in mortality death rates. The included motivating the health workers to reach out to the community, and review of training manuals. After thoughts of this give an insight that I would have included review of policies and extra funding us recommendations (“GUIDELINES ON HOW TO WRITE A FORMAL REPORT”, 2016). This part is supposed to critically analyze and interpret data. This may lead to the recipient of the report needing to own interpretation. This is an area I did not apply competence.
Project management documentation latter part entailed figures and charts structure ought to guide the planning and development of the whole program. I development easy- to- follow and understand tabular information. This consumed organizational skills and time. However, it summarized a lot of information. This tables included: project management documentation, Gantt chart with various documentations, budget projections, stake holders report, and risk assessment report. However I only managed to make only 90 percent of my tables presentable and easy to- follow. But so of my tables looked congested. Good tables should be clear (“A Good Statistical Table must Contain…” 2016). Additional, I ought to push further to colored tables to look appealing and differentiated. My fellow colleagues felt the same but time was an inhibiting factor. Thus the diagrams could not be revisited.
In conclusion, the whole process of the project and documenting of the report brought my skills and knowledge to application. It exhibits my ability and professionalism. However it also clearly shows strengths and weaknesses as concerns research and reports. The whole process has taught me that comments and assistance of others are invaluable and core in every project and yonder, in life. Additionally, reflection on the same projects elucidates areas that will need to be checked on future tasks.
