- According to the integrative framework for emotions, emotions develop through a combination of innate biological processes and socialization experiences. This has implications for the work with children, teens, and adults in that emotional experiences and expression can be influenced by both nature and nurture. Therefore, it is important to take into account a person’s individual experiences and background when working with them on emotional issues.
