Statistics and Business Research Report Proposal
Discuss about the Statistics and Business Research Report Proposal.
Introduction
The selection of an efficient process plan for an organisation leads to increase in the overall growth by improving the adaptability, quality, resources, administrative methods etc. In this cycle, the business resource planning is adopted by various organisations in order to organise the business process in a well defined manner. It includes a set of programming array that systematize the back office processes, various resources and technological data functions (De Toni et. al., 2015).
Topic for Business Research
The researcher has adopted the topic for this research study is “Relation between business process reengineering and enterprises resource planning in order to maximize the productivity of the organisation”.
On the basis of the previous research result, it has been witnessed that in regards to implement an effective resource planning in any organisation, the imperative key element is the recreation of the process with the help of business process reengineering method (BPR) (Monk and Wagner, 2013).
Business process reengineering method includes
- Information technology
- Well specified business structure
- Profitable business process.
ERP can be executed in an organisation with the following two methods (Ram, Wu and Tagg, 2014).
- Direct implementation of the resource planning techniques
- Involving BPR strategies with ERP (more significant method for implementing ERP)
Basic Research Question
The set of essential questions that would be answered on the basis of this research study
- What are the major factors for the discontent of an organisation in the view of resource planning implementation?
- What should be the specified range of BPR required for any organisation especially in case of manufacturing industries?
- What are the factors that affect the usage of BPR in resource planning of an organisation?
- What is the major concern of BPR usage in large scale manufacturing industries?
- What are the imperative measures that need to be adopted in order to reengineer the techniques?
- What are the major procedures to implement BPR in an organisation?
Back Ground Study
Literature Review of the Research Topic
This business process reengineering practice was first adopted by Hammer in the year 1990. He explained the various cost effective factors that will be controlled after the implementation of the suitable business process reengineering i.e. enhancement of service quality, speed, productivity and reduction of the cost ((De Toni et. al., 2015). Previous study explains that effective use of BPR techniques can enhance the profit by creating the process more economic and efficient and results better quality products to the customer, specifically in the manufacturing units. Efficient and eco-friendly manufacturing process will result in the higher turnover to the unit and higher quality product to the customer (Monk and Wagner, 2013). These techniques are also efficient in terms of implementation of management process, because it involves various businesses software that can reduce the time of managing huge data related to the resources or process (Ram, Wu and Tagg, 2014).. For example, any manufacturing industry involves huge data and information related to the operations and hence, it is difficult to collect or analyse them manually hence, the BPR-ERP based techniques comes into existence to reduces the overall time for analysis and increase the production rate (Donovan, nd).
Research Methodology
There are some key factors that are essential in order to implement the BPR procedures in the resource planning for an organisation. The researcher has selected graphical technique to represent the research work because this shows the better understanding in order to summarize the facts and figures. Graphical method also includes the representation of the outcomes in a specified manner (Eriksson & Kovalainen, 2015).
Basic Research Process
Business process reengineering techniques involves the utilization of the business resources in an efficient manner by executing the effective mode of ERP practice (Hillier, 2006).
- Collection of the data to obtain the answer to the research questions
- A complete questionnaire will be prepared by the researcher for the interview
- This questionnaire will be either asked in the interview session or will be distributed among the selected personals based on the availability
- Managers and the employees are the targeted sample space for this research work
- Organisation selected is Nufarm chemicals manufacturing company in Australia
- Sample size is selected as 60 ( 45 employees and 15 managerial level professionals who is working in the process executing department of the organisation)
Collection and Analysis of the Data
Different level of employees from various department of the manufacturing unit will be targeted as the main resource of the data collection process. Poll review will be the method to collect data and would help to differentiate the number of the variables for the research study. The main focus of the researcher is to collect the data and information from the department, which would execute the resource planning program for the respective manufacturing unit by the mode of personal interview or telephone conversation. The researcher will be analysing the data and would express the results obtained in graphs, tables, pie charts, diagrams with the use of MS excel, SPSS and other related statistic software packages to concise the data as per the choice of the researcher (Eriksson & Kovalainen, 2015).
Chi square test will be used in order to correlate the various variables of the data. Secondary data set will also be analysed based on journals, books and internet about the ERP implementation and business process reengineering (Hillier, 2006). Another aspect related to current ERP is to find the vendor who has provided the ERP program to the respective manufacturing unit on the basis of the essential requirement (if required).
Expected outcomes
In this research study, the researcher will be able to determine the various features related to the implementation of the business process reengineering techniques on the resource planning of the organisation in order to maximize the profit and production rate. SAP data package will be adopted for resource planning practice in regards to examine various financial resources activity and samples. Various distributions or compiling of the activities/ modules will also be evaluated of the respective manufacturing unit. Effective utilization of the resource, stability in the operations, and efficient back offices process of management will also be analysed and maintained based on the enactment of the business process reengineering techniques.
