Let’s say you are shortlisted for the face to face round. You have submitted your resume. And now next step would be to research the company, research about the interview. So you will have all the details in your e-mail about the company, about the job description, about the person who will be interviewing you.

So don’t be a stalker on LinkedIn, but make sure that you are gathering some information about the interviewer, what position he was previous to this company and what kind of technology he worked on so that you would have some idea about what topics you can talk to the interviewer in the interview.

If you use their strategy while answering your question to the hiring manager, there are chances that you will stand out amongst hundreds of candidates who are there for the interview. So this strategy is called STAR Methodology.

STAR stands for Situation for the Task is for Action out for the Result. Whenever you will answer to the hiring manager, your answers should have all those four competencies whenever you are sharing an example. What was the situation? Let’s say something was broken.

Set up a call between all these stakeholders will be able to fix that issue. And that is the action that you have taken. The result would be that you were able to fix that issue and make everything up and running within one hour. So this example had situation tasks that you perform. A lot of H.R. recruiter will not tell you, but they will have an assured where they will know down the situation to ask action and result off the example that you are sharing.
